Chad recently joined the ICFR after having obtained both his BSc and MSc degrees in forest science from the University of Stellenbosch. While a student, he has been involved in studying machine productivity and cost implications in a forestry environment, including the development of the South African harvesting and transport costing model that is available to the industry. He has also contributed towards training industry members on how to conduct time and motion studies to a replicable standard so as to be able to draw meaningful conclusions from observing their operations.
At the ICFR. he is part of the Forest Management programme and is involved in various projects, the major focus being value chain/stream analysis and optimisation.
